Till Ki Chikki
Chikki is known to be the most wanted sweet during winters. Till Ki Chikki is a traditional Indian sweet which people usually like to have during the festive time of Makasakranti and Lohri. This sweet is mainly prepared with sesame seeds(till) and jaggery. Sesame seeds has the ability to keep your body warm in the cold weather which is why its is prepared during this season.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup jaggery
1/4 teaspoon green cardamom
1/2 cup almonds
2 tablespoon pistachios
1 tablespoon ghee
How to make Till Ki Chikki
Step 1
To prepare this crispy chikki, first, take a medium sized pan and place it on low flame. Then, dry roast white sesame seeds in it until they become golden brown. Once done, turn the flame off and keep aside for a while.
Step 2
Now, take another large sized pan and place it on medium flame. Then, add ghee along with chopped jaggery in it. Stir them until the jaggery melts completely and you get a thick syrup.
Step 3
Next, add the roasted sesame seeds in the jaggery syrup and stir well. Then, add almonds, pistachios, cardamom powder in the pan and mix well.
Step 4
Now, quickly transfer the mixture on a butter paper or a greased steel tray. Then, roll and flatten the mixture immediately in a shape of a thin rectangular block.
Step 5
Lastly, divide and cut the block equally in 12 pieces using a sharp knife. Keep aside for next 20 minutes. Serve them once cooled immediately.
