Luxury in wilderness

Corbett, due to its proximity with Delhi, attracts a significant number of tourists throughout the year. Consequently, most of the properties in the area tend to become overcrowded, defeating the purpose of being in a jungle. However, Aahana The Corbett Wilderness in Ramnagar seems to be a delightful exception. It offers a luxurious experience amidst the dense forest.

Spread over nearly a 14-acre expanse of vibrant, verdant landscapes, Aahana shares its boundaries with the Bijrani Zone of Jim Corbett National Park. Surrounded by dense, untrimmed thicket, the resort serves as a sanctuary for over 200 avian species, making it a perfect spot for bird watchers like myself.

Over the years, I have come to appreciate the far-reaching benefits of sustainable tourism. Therefore, I actively seek out places that promote organic farming and adhere to sustainable hospitality practices. Aahana has its own organic farms, making it one of the best places to enjoy farm-to-table offerings. Despite its lush forest surroundings, the property is remarkably mosquito-free, thanks to the lemongrass and citronella plants strategically placed throughout.

Immersive experience
The rooms and restaurants are designed in a Victorian style and are well-spaced, providing a sense of openness and privacy. Each room, villa, and suite boasts unique designs. One of the distinctive features of the place is its buggy ride, where two horses take you on an exciting, bumpy journey in a wooden buggy through the lanes of Corbett. This ride offers a clear view of lush green fields and local life, making it an exceptional experience. Aahana also has a spa that offers some of the most relaxing treatments. The Aarogyam Spa offers a blend of traditional and Western therapies, while the Naturopathy center provides treatments like mud baths, sun sauna baths, jal netis, sinus cleanse, and unique oil massages.

Cuisine is the king
Another highlight of the place is its exceptional cuisine, which blends local, national, and international flavors. The Dhikala Restaurant, located next to the pool and resembling a glasshouse, offers panoramic views of the surrounding greenery. The outdoor sky deck allows you to dine in the midst of nature, while live counters serve unique cuisines such as Mongolian, Burmese, and Indian street food. In the evenings, dining by the bonfire with live music sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxed night.

The colonial ambiance of Jim's Bar makes it an ideal place to savor exquisite cocktails in a warm and inviting setting after a long day. The food at Aahana is prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From the juiciest mangoes (in season) to the tastiest meats and vegetables, the culinary experience at Aahana is definitely something worth returning for.
