Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Date, Constituency Wise Schedule and Party Wise Candidates List

The Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh for 2024 is slated to be conducted on May 13. Simultaneously, the assembly elections will also take place on the same day. The counting of votes for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections 2024 will take place alongside the counting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on June 4, 2024.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly has 175 seats, out of which 29 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and seven for the Scheduled Tribes (STs).

Andhra Pradesh Constituency Wise Schedule
The southern state of Andhra Pradesh comprises 25 Lok Sabha seats. The ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in 2019 achieved a sweeping victory, securing 22 seats, mirroring its success in the Assembly polls. Meanwhile, the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) managed to secure only three seats.

The voting for the 16th Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will occur in a single phase on May 13 (the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections) and the counting of votes is scheduled for June 4, 2024.

  • Key Candidates Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is slated to contest the polls from the Pulivendula seat. At the same time, Dharmana Prasada Rao has been fielded from Srikakulam, Reddy Shanthi from Pathapatnam, Vasupalli Ganesh from Visakhapatnam South, Kammila Kannaparaju from Visakhapatnam North and Adari Anand from Visakhapatnam West.

    Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed an alliance with the N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party for the Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and the Lok Sabha polls. Andhra Pradesh, this year, is expected to witness a two-way contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

    From Congress, former Andhra Pradesh primary education minister S. Sailajanath has been named as the candidate for the Singanamala constituency. Meanwhile, V. Rakada Eliza and Toguru Arthur, who left the YSRCP after failing to secure tickets, will contest from the Chintalapudi (SC) constituency and Nandikotkuru (SC) respectively.
