Andhra Pradesh MLC Election Result 2023: YSRCP Wins 4 Seats | Full List of Winners


Amravati: The Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has registered a thumping victory in biennial elections for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council (AP MLC Elections 2023). Of the total 8 seats, the YSRCP has bagged all 4 seats from local bodies' constituencies. A few independent candidates with the support of principal opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are also emerging victorious.

Times of India reported that the counting of votes in teachers’ constituencies and graduates' constituencies might continue for another 36 hours owing to the tough battle in all the five segments. Reports said that Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) backed by Left parties, TDP and BJP are locked in stiff fight with the ruling YSRCP in the five constituencies.

  • Srikakulam: YSRCP candidate Narthu Ramarao won Srikakulam seat with a thumping majority. He bagged 632 votes.
  • West Godavari: YSRCP candidates K Srinivas and Vanka Ravindranath registered victory from both the seats of the West Godavari local bodies constituency.
  • YSRCP candidate Kavuru Srinivas got 481 first-priority votes, and Vanka Ravindranath got 460 first priority votes.
    • Kurnool local bodies constituency: YSRCP nominee Dr Madhusudan bagged the Kurnool local bodies constituency with a massive majority.

    • North Andhra Graduates Constituency:
    At the time of filing the story, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao was leading over his nearest rival Seethamraju Sudhakar of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) with a margin of more than 20,000 votes.
    • East Rayalaseema: TDP candidate Kancharla Srikanth Chowdary was leading by over 10,000 votes against YSRCP candidate Syam Prasad Reddy.

    Polling for eight MLC seats in the biennial elections for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council concluded on a peaceful note with the local authorities constituencies logging the highest voter turnout. Polling was held for three graduates, two teachers and three local authorities constituencies in the state on Monday.

    All the three local authorities' constituencies Srikakulam, West Godavari and Kurnool have registered more than 95 percent polling with West Godavari recording the highest at 98.46 percent. Likewise, graduates' constituencies in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam have recorded a polling percentage of 60 while it is 65 percent in Prakasam Nellore Chittoor for the same constituencies.

    Similarly, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool graduates constituencies recorded a polling percentage of 66 percent while the same districts under the category of teachers' constituencies saw polling percentage of 89 percent. While Prakasam,Nellore, Chittoor teachers' constituencies registered a polling percentage of 85 percent.
