Bangalore Literature Festival: Farhan Akhtar, Sudha Murthy, Dalrymple and more - key highlights on Sunday

Bengaluru: The celebrated Bangalore Literature Festival (BLT) kicked off this year's edition with much fanfare on Saturday. On the first day of the 11th edition of BLT happening at Hotel Lalit Ashok on Kumara Krupa Road, many known authors, speakers and thousands of participants took part in a slew of discussions and events related to music, art, culture, language, literature and the environment.


The two-day event will feature more than 250 authors and speakers. The prominent names among them include, actor Farhan Akhtar and footballer Sunil Chhetri apart from celebrated authors such as Pico Iyer, Shobhaa De, Geetanjali Shree, William Dalrymple, Snehan Karuna and many others.

  • Stories I Must Tell - Actor Kabir Bedi in conversation with publisher Karthika VK. Venue: Gandhana Gudi at 10:00 am

  • Ask Me Anything with William Dalrymple. Venue: The Red Couch at 10:00 am

  • Akira, Shakya and the Grouchy Owl - Actor Farhan Akhtar, actress and screenwriter Honey Irani and director Shantanu Ray Chaudhuri in conversation with film critic Stutee Ghosh. Venue: Gandhana Gudi 11:00 am

  • The World of Cricket Writing - A discussion by cricket writers Pradeep Magazine, R. Kaushik, Sharda Ugra, Shehan Karunatilaka and Suresh Menon. Venue: Raajakumara at 10:00 am

  • The Magic of The Lost Story - Author and chairperson of Infosys FoundationSudha Murty in conversation with Manu Pillai. Venue: Raajakumara at 11:45 am

  • Pure Evil: The Bad Men of Bollywood - Author Balaji Vittal in conversation with Kaveree Bamzai. Venue: Yuvaratna at 2:30 pm

  • Insatiable - Author Shobhaa De in conversation with Surya HK. Venue: Gandhana Gudi at 2:45 pm

  • India’s Maharajahs in the Age of Ravi Varma - Popular historian Manu Pillai in conversation with Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan. Venue: Gandhana Gudi at 6:45 pm

  • Atta Galatta-Bangalore Literature Festival Book Prize Awards. Venue: Gandhana Gudi at 4:45 pm
