'BBC up for sale...': BJP alleges CHINESE link to BBC documentary, calls it 'cash-for-propaganda deal'

New Delhi: In a fresh salvo on the much-controversial BBC documentary, BJP has now alleged China link to BBC Docuseries on PM Modi's role in the Gujarat Riots of 2002 in a massive twist. "This is a cash-for-propaganda deal between BBC & Huawei," said BJP RS MP Mahesh Jehthmalani.

"Why is BBC so anti-India? Because it needs money desperately enough to take it from Chinese state-linked Huawei (see link) and pursue the latter's agenda (BBC a fellow traveller, Comrade ⁦Jairam?)It's a simple cash-for-propaganda deal.

BBC is up for sale," read a tweet by Mahesh Jethmalani.

"Apart from publishing a truncated map of India w/o J&K until 2021 when it apologised to the Indian govt & corrected the map, BBC has a long history of spreading disinformation against India. The anti-PM documentary is a continuation of this malafide trend," the BJP leader wrote in a separate tweet.

'The allegations made by Mahesh Jethmalani against BBC are speculative and there is no proof to the allegations,' said TMC MP Saugata Roy in response to the BJP leader's allegations.

Notably, the opposition has criticised the central government for banning the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role in the 2002 Gujarat riots.

BJP RS MP Mahesh Jehthamalani, on the other hand, stressed that 'BBC is using Chinese money for its propaganda in former colonies'.

"I dare the BBC to come out & challenge its relations with the Chinese. I'll write to the govt for banning BBC in India. BBC is using Chinese money for its propaganda in former colonies," Mahesh Jethmalani added.
