Calling An Unknown Woman Darling is Sexual Harrassment, Points Out Actress Nabha Natesh

Actress Nabha Natesh, who is currently working on the Telugu film Swayambhu featuring Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead, has caught the attention of netizens, thanks to a couple of posts that she recently put out on social media platform X.

The Dispute Over 'Darling'
The actress recently put out a tweet that read, ‘Hi Darlings.
How are you’, with a video clip that looked to showcase how men use the word 'Darling'.

Soon, Telugu actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda responded to this tweet of the actress with a tweet of his own, that read, "WOW Super Darling. Kirrrraakkk Unnav Darling."

Quoting this tweet of the actor, the actress responded saying, "Mr. choose your words carefully before commenting!!" and also cited a Calcutta High Court judgement that said that Calling an unknown woman 'darling' was sexual harrassment under Section 354A of the IPC.

Priyadarshi responded, saying, "Oh! I didn’t know we were “unknown”. BTW meeru ‘Darling’ anochhu, memu ante Sec 354A IPC ah? Lite theesko Darling." (You can call us Darling but when we do the same, Section 354 IPC comes into effect? Take it easy Darling). Nabha then replied, "Ahaa! Do not cross the line! Chuskundham.." (We'll see...)

The conversation sparked off a number of responses from others on the social media group, with many pointing out how biased the law was.

All For Promotion?
Several netizens were taken aback with the exchange of words between the two actors with the actress referring to a recent High Court order on calling an unknown woman as darling and even warning Priyadarshi to be careful while using such words. However, some netizens began wondering if whether this was a promotional stunt for their upcoming Telugu movie!

Reportedly, Nabha Natesh and Priyadarshi Pulikonda's upcoming film is titled Darling.

The actress is currently busy shooting for the Telugu period action drama Swayambhu, starring Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead.
