Earthquakes in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Manipur

Raipur: An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter Scale hit 12km WSW of Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh at 10:28 am on Friday, National Centre for Seismology reported.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter Scale hit Churachandpur, Manipur at 8:52 am today, National Centre for Seismology reported.


Meanwhile, an earthquake of magnitude 4 hit Gwalior and areas in its vicinity in Madhya Pradesh today morning. Fortunately, no damages were reported in any of the areas.

India Meteorological Department's Bhopal office duty officer SN Sahu told PTI said that mild jolts were reported at 10.31.49 am.

The epicentre of the quake was 28 km south-east of Gwalior, the official said.

Another low intensity earthquake was reported from Nepal today morning. The earthquake measured 3.9 on the Richter Scale.

Delhi recorded 2.7 magnitude earthquake on March 22, the National Centre for Seismology said.

The quake occurred at 4:42 pm. The epicentre was in west Delhi.

A 6.6 magnitude temblor on March 21 night was felt across several areas in northern India, including Delhi as the earthquake struck the Hindukush region in Afghanistan.
