HOP LEO high-speed electric scooter with 120 km range launched in India

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer, HOP Electric has launched a new high-speed version of the LEO e-scooter. It also has an ex-showroom price below Rs 1 lakh (although HOP doesn’t mention the exact number in the press release), just like the low-speed version.

The high-speed LEO is powered by a 2.1 kWh lithium-ion battery that is good for 120 km of range.

Furthermore, it is available with an 850W charger that can charge from 0-80% in 2.5 hours. The 72 V architecture remains the same as well, but with a 2200W BLDC hub motor that produces up to 90 Nm of torque to the rear wheel.

Moreover, HOP Electric also offers the high-speed LEO with four ride modes - Eco, Power, Sport, and Reverse. The gradeability of the e-scooter is at 12 degrees and it has a loading capacity of 160 kg as well.

Cycle parts remain the same as well. Telescopic forks up front, and twin hydraulic shock absorbers for the rear. Braking duties are sorted by two disc brakes on both 10-inch wheels, which further feature a Combi-brake system and regenerative braking.

The new HOP LEO features the same LCD digital display without any connectivity options. However, it can be availed with a 3rd party GPS tracker that is available as an option. The battery is IP67/65 rated hence waterproof and dustproof.

With the new LEO, HOP is reinforcing its aim to continue offering cost-effective mobility solutions to the market. The scooter is available for purchase both online and at the nearest HOP’s experience center, however, the website was not updated, while filing this report.

HOP also retails the OXO, an e-motorcycle that can do 125 km of range with a top speed of 90 km/h, along with the LYF e-scooter. The latter is priced below Rs 1 lakh, but the OXO is their most expensive product with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs 1,64,999.
