Jio Phone 5G with Snapdragon 480+ leaked on Geekbench, could soon launch in India

The Jio Phone 5G with Snapdragon 480+ has been listed on Geekbench, revealing its key specifications. The Jio Phone 5G will launch in India soon but Jio hasn’t revealed the exact launch date. The Jio Phone 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ which we have seen previously on the Moto G51 5G that launched back in December 2021.

The Jio Phone 5G listing was first spotted by MySmartPrice, confirming some of the key specifications of Jio’s upcoming 5G phone. The upcoming Jio Phone has been in the works as a lot of rumours in the past have hinted, however, its launch could be sooner than expected, especially since the Jio 5G network is now live in over 9 cities across India and is fully deployed in Gujarat.

As per the Geekbench listing, the Jio Phone 5G with model ID Jio LS1654QB5 is powered by the “holi” motherboard which is a codename for Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset. The Snapdragon 480+ has an octa-core CPU which should be good enough to power through basic tasks and has Adreno 619 GPU.

On the Geekbench benchmark, the Jio Phone 5G has received a single-core score of 549 points and 1661 points in the multi-score tests which is in line with the scores of the Moto G51 5G.

As for the pricing, the Jio Phone 5G could be India’s most affordable 5G phone, taking the crown off of Lava Blaze 5G which launched at Rs 9,999 in November. Here’s everything we know so far about the Jio Phone 5G including its rumoured key specifications.

Jio Phone 5G expected specifications

The Jio Phone 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ display which may or may not support a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Jio Phone 5G is listed on Geekbench with 4GB RAM and runs on Android 12 under the Jio Pragati OS which was made in partnership with Google for entry-level smartphones. While the storage options remain unknown, Jio could offer 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options for users to choose from.

The Jio Phone 5G is also expected to have a 13-megapixel main camera alongside a 2MP camera which is likely a depth sensor. Upfront, the Jio Phone 5G could feature an 8MP selfie camera.

Additionally, the Jio Phone 5G could have a 5,000mAh battery to boot which supports 18W charging speeds. Jio will likely have some offers for the Jio Phone 5G at launch including its bouquet of services like Jio Cinema, Jio Mart and Jio TV, to name a few.
