Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag doesn't want Cristiano Ronaldo to play for the club again – Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to play for Manchester United again after launching a scathing attack on manager Erik ten Hag and club owners The Glazers. According to reports, manager Ten Hag has told the club’s bosses that the 37-year-old footballer should never play for the club again.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, which was released this week, Ronaldo said he felt "betrayed" by the Red Devils and that he doesn't respect Ten Hag.

And according to ESPN, Ten Hag held a meeting with co-chairman Joel Glazer, chief executive Richard Arnold, and football director John Murtough after Ronaldo's interview to express his views and has demanded that Ronaldo never play for the club again.

He feels that Ronaldo has gone too far in his criticism of the club and of him. It's also said that a number of players are "furious" at the timing of the striker's outburst, which first came to light on Sunday, feeling it took away from their victory just hours earlier.

In his interview with Morgan on Talk TV, Ronaldo claimed that Ten Hag doesn't respect him.

He said: "I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me."

"Some people, they don't want me here—not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year but last year too.

"Honestly, I shouldn't say that. But listen, I don't care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.

Ronaldo, who played for the Manchester club in the mid-2000s before making a return last year, refused to come off the bench last month in a 2-0 victory over Tottenham, after which he was fined by the manager and was made to train by himself.

Ronaldo eventually apologised and was reinstated to the team, but he still holds a grudge against Ten Hag.
