The radiant Manisha Koirala stars as the Queen of Heeramandi." In the brief video, a regal Mallikajaan is seated sewing an outfit. She announces, " Kaalakari aur hoshiyaari se Mallikajaan ne Heeramandi mein apni sultanate jamaiye hai.

In the series, Mallikajaan has ruled the district of Heeramandi for long but a rival in the form of Sonakshi Sinha's Fareedan emerges to challenge the queen. Meanwhile, Mallikajaan has to also worry about her daughters Bibbojaan (Aditi Rao Hydari) and Alamzeb (Sharmin Segal) who both have differing ambitions from their mother. Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Adhyayan Suman and Shekhar Suman are also part of the larger ensemble cast.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Heeramandi Bhansali had the period project in mind for nearly 14 years. The Bajirao Mastani filmmaker has also composed the music for the web series. Designers Rimple and Harpreet have done the costumes for the leading ladies of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
