Microsoft Layoffs 2023: Microsoft layoffs 'hitting hard', Indian employee who served for over 21 years fired

Microsoft Layoffs 2023 have impacted around 10,000 employees. CEO Satya Nadella confirmed these layoffs to employees in an internal memo. Amongst the fired employees is an Indian Man, Prashant Kamani, who was laid off by Microsoft after 21 years of service.

Taking to LinkedIn, Prashant Kamani who was the Principal Software Development Manager at Microsoft shared that he had been laid off by the tech giant.

"Today I was informed that my position at Microsoft has been eliminated. As I reflect on it today, I feel a sense of gratitude more than anything else," stated Kamani.


Kamani worked for Microsoft for more than 15 years. Despite spending time with Amazon and other tech companies, he found his way back to Microsoft in 2018 and was fired in 2023 through the mass Microsoft Layoffs.

While the news of getting fired hit Prashant and his family hard, he remained grateful and thanked Microsoft for all these years of learning and experience.

"Microsoft gave me many opportunities to learn and expand my skills, and I was able to take full advantage of them. The wealth of experience I gained throughout my career can’t simply be measured in years, it is truly immeasurable. And for all of that, I’m truly grateful to Microsoft," Prashant added further.


Microsoft Layoffs 2023 – 10,000 employees fired

Microsoft on Wednesday announced that it would laying off employees. On Thursday, CEO Satya Nadella confirmed this layoff in an internal memo. Around 10,000 employees have been impacted by this round of layoffs. Around less than 5 percent of Microsoft’s workforce has been hit.
