Petrol, Diesel Price Today: 27 January 2023 - Check latest fuel rates in your city

New Delhi: Oil prices edged marginally higher on Friday, extending for a second session on strong US economic data and strengthening hope that the reopening of the Chinese economy would boost demand. However, this has no impact on fuel prices in India.

Oil Marketing Companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum declare fuel price revision, if any, at 6 am daily, however, they kept the petrol, diesel prices unchanged on Friday, January 27.

Petrol, diesel prices across the country have remained the same for over seven months now.

Despite incurring massive losses due to the over seven-month long petrol, diesel price freeze in the last quarter, OMCs haven’t passed on the price hike to the consumers. The last major fuel price revision across the country was in May 2022. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had then reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre.

Petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 per litre while diesel at Rs 89.62 per litre, as per the latest price notification. People in Mumbai are paying Rs 106.31 for a litre of petrol and Rs 94.27 for a litre of diesel. In India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru, petrol is being sold at Rs 101.94 per litre and diesel at Rs 87.89 per litre.
