Priyanka Chopra Set To Reunite With Sanjay Leela Bhansali For A Period Film: Report

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, now a global star, arrived in Mumbai a few days ago for work-related commitments. She attended Bulgari and Isha Ambani's Roman Holi celebration in Mumbai and then graced Prime Video's event in the city. The actress then headed to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, to seek the blessings of Lord Ram with daughter Maltie Marie Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas.

Amid her trip to India, PeeCee is also finalising projects she wants to be a part of. Reportedly, she has been in back-to-back meetings with filmmakers for upcoming films and shows. The actress and producer is planning to bankroll three-four projects under her banner.

Not just this, she is also meeting Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his upcoming period drama. Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying, “She knows there is a lot of curiosity around her next Hindi project and wants to finalise a project soon. She is going through several scripts, and meeting several makers to decide on the same. In fact, she is also meeting Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an action project, set in a different period. She has liked the project, and is meeting Bhansali now to decide on the timeline, schedule and costumes.”

PeeCee and SLB previously worked together in 2015 period drama Bajirao Mastani, which starred Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in titular roles. Priyanka won critical acclaim and the audience's hearts with her powerful performance as Kashi Bai.

Other projects

Priyanka will be seen in Farhan Akhtar's next directorial Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. The makers are yet to share an update on the film.

Meanwhile, she has several international projects in her kitty, including Heads of State

, alongside John Cena and Idris Elba.

Bhansali, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of his first web show - Heeramandi. Starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal, it will release on Netflix soon.
