Priyanka Chopra's Meeting With Sanjay Leela Bhansali Was Never On

Reports of a supposedly scheduled meeting between the Bajirao Mastani director and the leading lady were completely fake. They were never supposed to meet during her recent visit, or, for that matter, during any of her visits to India. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are unlikely to work together in the near future.

They had a massive fallout during the casting of Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. Priyanka was the first choice for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. In fact, she had been finalized for the part. Costumes, dates, and remuneration were being discussed when, overnight, SLB decided to go with Alia Bhatt instead. Priyanka apparently expressed her disappointment to Bhansali in no uncertain terms.

Incidentally, this is not the only Bhansali project that Priyanka lost. She was also penciled in to play the author-poet Amrita Pritam in the biopic on poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi to be directed by Jasmeet (Darlings) Reen. But Priyanka didn’t want to work with Abhishek Bachchan, who was finalized for the part of Sahir.
