Salesforce Layoffs to exceed 8000, COO hints at more job cuts

Salesforce had recently laid off 8000 employees in January 2023. However, as per latest reports, Salesforce COO has hinted at more job cuts in the coming few weeks for the US based tech company.

As per a Bloomberg report, the Chief Operating Officer, Brian Millham has stated that there could be another round of Salesforce Layoffs in the coming few weeks.

As per Millham, these job cuts will be done in order to focus on improving profits.

Due to this decision, the total count of employees impacted by Salesforce Layoffs 2023 may exceed 8,000. In January 2023, Salesforce announced it would be laying off 10 percent of its total workforce. Salesforce layoffs of January came to be known as the largest ever headcount reduction taken by the company.

“The structure of the organization — if we feel like it needs to change and reshape — we’re going to make those moves to drive the efficiencies,” stated the Salesforce COO to Bloomberg. Apart from mass layoffs, Salesforce also began to close offices across the United States due to cost cutting.

Brian Millham joined Salesforce in 1999 and was the 13th employee to join the tech company. Millham was promoted to COO in 2022 and was in-charge of the responsibilities held by co-Chief Executive Officer Bret Taylor after he parted ways with the company.

Salesforce is not the only company which is considering a second round of layoffs. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg led Meta announced a second round of layoffs which has impacted around 10,000 employees.

Meta Layoffs 2023 also resulted in the elimination of 5,000 open roles. Amazon Inc also announced a additional rounds of layoffs, taking their total layoff count to 27,000 employees.
