Thalapathy Vijay Receives Massive Welcome From Fans In Kerala

On Monday evening, fans of actor Vijay swarmed the Thiruvananthapuram airport in Kerala to catch a glimpse of the star, who arrived in the city after 14 years to shoot for his film The Greatest of All Time. Upon his arrival, Vijay was welcomed by a sea of fans, who chanted his name, waved out to him and began taking visuals of the moment on their phones.

In the video which is now going viral, Vijay is seen walking towards his car, fully guarded by security forces. In another video he is seen standing out of the sunroof of his car, waving at the enthusiastic fans. He flaunted his smile and continued to do so before signing off.

Vijay arrives in Kerala

Visuals on social media also showed, fans going frenzy on seeing their idol, as some began climbing polls. It is said that security forces had a tough time managing Vijay's exit from the airport, as fans were keen on moving towards the car the actor was seated in.

The enthusiasm of fans and their palpable energy can also be seen at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, where filming is set to commence. The venue is surrounded by banners welcoming the actor. This welcome, marks Vijay's return to Kerala after a 14-year hiatus since his film, Kaavalan, in 2011.

Prior to his arrival, several fans sat outside the Thiruvananthapuram airport, waiting patiently for Vijay to arrive. The visuals of fans was accompanied with the hashtag #VijayStormHitsKerala on X which began trending on the social media platform.

In 2023, October, Vijay's film Leo streamed with 85 per cent occupancy in 655 screens, including multiplexes in Kerala. As the Tamil Nadu government has banned 4 am shows in the state, Vijay fans flocked in large numbers Kerala to watch the early morning shows.
