'Waiting For A Response, Mr Home Minister': TMC Accuses BJP Of Planting Bombs Amid CBI's Sandeshkhali Raids

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday launched a scathing attack at the Centre, accusing it of misusing the National Security Guard (NSG) in West Bengal.

Speaking at a rally in Kulti, Mamata criticised the heavy-handed response by central agencies like the CBI, NIA, and NSG, suggesting a one-sided approach that bypasses state police.

Her remarks were made in the context of recent incidents, including a bomb explosion at a BJP leader's residence in Kulti.

"Before I was coming here (Kulti) I came to know about a bomb that exploded at the BJP leader's residence," Mamata said.

"Even if a chocolate bomb explodes in Bengal, CBI, NIA, NSG are sent here. It's as if there is a war going on here. This is one-sided approach as the state police wasn't informed. Nobody knows where it was recovered from - maybe it was brought from their own car and presented as recovered items. There is no evidence to show it was found here," Mamata added.

"Even today, I heard there was an incident near Sandeshkhali. A BJP leader had stored bombs in his house. They think that they can win by cancelling jobs and exploding bombs. We want roti, kapda, makaan and jobs for the people, not their lofty speeches," she said.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh echoed Mamata's sentiments, citing recent events in Sandeshkhali where he claimed that bombs were stored inside a house belonging to BJP leader Nemai Das. Ghosh demanded the immediate arrest and interrogation of those involved, including senior BJP leaders such as Suvendu Adhikari.

Arup Chakraborty, another TMC leader, made a bold claim, accusing the BJP of orchestrating violence in Bengal. He demanded the arrest of senior BJP figures, including Adhikari, for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

In response, BJP's Prem Shukla dismissed the allegations, accusing TMC of sheltering goons and terrorists. Shukla cited recent raids by central agencies, which allegedly uncovered weapons linked to TMC associates.

"These are baseless allegations.. Goons of TMC were given shelter by Mamata Banerjee in Sandeshkhali. We saw how Sheikh Shajahan was crying after he went into custody. The NSG and CBI raided Sandeshkhali and recovered various weapons. An official weapon of the Bengal police was also recovered in raids from the associates of Sheikh Shahjahan. The Bengal police has been protecting and sheltering these terrorists elements."
