Watching Superstar Rajinikanth deliver his lines is a surreal experience: Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil has been having a fantastic run of late, with an impressive line-up of films that he has completed, along with a slate of some highly-expected releases this year. Speaking during a recent interview with Galatta, the actor opened up about his experience working with superstars from other film industries. Fahadh's upcoming films include Vettaiyan with Superstar Rajinikanth - the versatile Malayalam actor will play a goofy cop more in the comedy vein.

A Body of Memorable WorkFahadh, who has done some memorable roles in Tamil, namely his characters from the films Velaikkaran with Sivakarthikeyan, Vikram with Kamal Haasan, and Maamannan with Vadivelu, expressed gratitude at being able to approach these actors for guidance. He explained that his goal was to keep collaborating and learn from their talent. He also spoke about his experience of working on the Malayalam film Immanuel with Mammootty.

Speaking about Rajinikanth, Fahadh quipped whether the superstar was aware of his filmography. “I often ask Rajinikanth if he has seen any of my movies. He claims not to have watched them, but says he has heard about me,” said Fahadh. The actor went on to say that merely being in Rajinikanth's presence and watching him memorise and deliver lines was a surreal experience.

Elaborating on his collaborations, Fahadh stated that what impressed him the most about these mega stars was their sincerity in front of the camera. “They truly believe that everyone is equal on set. There are discussions, and an effort to make everyone feel included,” he explained.

He will also be doing a Malayalam film with actor-director Althaf Salim, which he says will be a light-hearted love story.
