Will Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon's Crew Accrue Box Office Numbers Over The Weekend? Trade Expert Opines - EXCLUSIVE

Things are looking upbeat for Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon. Together they whoop it up in Lootcase director Rajesh Krishnan’s Crew.

Bhaiyon aur behno, fasten your seat belts. This romcom has opened well.

Kumar Abhishek, Cinema Manager of Connplex Patna feels it is a win-win situation for Crew.

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, he said, “There is no other release this week. Unless we consider The Goat Life which is a brilliant Malayalam film which may take off the way Manjummel Boys did recently. That apart, there is no other film over the long weekend. So Crew has space to grow.”

Audiences are calling Crew a glamorous smarter funnier smarter version of Madgaon Express.

Kumar Abhishek further added, “Log keh rahen hain yeh auraton wali Madgaon Express hai. Imagine if Madgaon Express starred three glamorous stars instead of three non-happening actors.”

From its takeoff point, pun intended, Crew gets into a zany mood, unwilling to let go of even a single chance to poke fun at those who think material girls are wanton. But Tabu, Kareena and Kriti make materialism look so mouthwateringly desirable, it would be a shame to wag our fingers at them for going off the righteous path for a bit of fiscal fun. Crew
manages to be fun despite the irreverent cheeky transgressions regarding airline protocols, or maybe because of it. Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri’s writing is high on the carbs barbs and digs at the people who live the good life at the expense of those who slog their entire lifetime to keep the home fire burning. Crew is filled with debt-defying potshots at economic absconders and other financial defaulters.

Kapil Sharma is billed as a ‘Guest Star’ in the end credits. Considering the length of his role, he is at best a guest. For less of a ghost and more of a host, Kapil is back this Saturday hosting his comedy show on Netflix.
