Ex-Kannad MLA Jadhav joins BRS

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The newly formed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) received a shot in the arm on Thursday with former Kannad MLA, Harshvardhan Jadhav joining its fold.

Jadhav, a two-time MLA and the son-in-law of BJP leader Raosaheb Danve, joined the BRS in Hyderabad in the presence of Telangana chief minister and BRS supremo, K Chandrasekhar Rao.

His inclusion is likely to play a significant role in expanding the party’s base in the Marathwada region of the state and is being seen as a significant development ahead of the Telangana chief minister’s rally in Nanded district.

Jadhav posted a video on social media saying he decided to join the BRS as it had taken a slew of pro-farmer measures in Telangana.

“All other parties are busy fighting with each other. We are not interested in religion-based politics or seeing how the ED is being used. This is not going to help our farmers,” he is seen as saying in the video and questioning as to why Maharashtra is being deprived of such measures.
