The weekend gone by was easily a dream come true for many of Bengaluru’s book lovers. For, it was not just about being able to get their hands on their favourite books, it was about taking home cartons filled with books for a steal. Aptly titled Lock the Box, the venue was a warehouse of sorts, filled with pre-owned books. The choices were of three different sizes of cardboard boxes — each named after a mythological Greek god ( Odysseus , Perseus and Hercules ) and each priced rather nominally. All you had to do was fill as many books as you can to fit into the carton of your choice and take them all home. While this is the first time such a book deal was organised in Bengaluru, Book Chor has organised the same in cities like Mumbai and Delhi before. Sangeetha Alwar, a Bengaluru-based visitor at this unique sale told us, “The sale was quite a fit for people who are into travel and cooking. There were a lot of classics available too.”
