Mysuru: One of the major attractions of Dasara this year will be the flower and fruits show to be held at Kuppanna Park, which is also called Nishad Bagh in the heart of the city between September 26 and October 5.

The highlight of this year’s show will be a replica of Rashtrapati Bhavan made with flowers.

Speaking to reporters, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer BR Poornima said that this replica will be created using red and white roses and chrysanthemums.

“The height of this replica will be 20 feet. It is coming up inside the glass house of the park. A statue of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar and other aspects of his life decorated in flowers will be another highlight. A replica of Thandi Sadaks will also be created using flowers,” she said.

A 7-feet tall honey bee, 12-feet tall giraffe, and various dolls decorated in flowers will be a big attraction for children. “Various cultural programmes will also be organised as part of the flower show,” Poornima said.

“The park will be decorated with various flowers. The horticulture department has grown over 50,000 flower-bearing plants. Ornamental flowers from Pune will add to the attraction of the show. Various stalls will also be set up to promote horticulture, organic farming, etc,” she said.
