BRS, bypoll done,Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao focus now shifts to 2023 polls

HYDERABAD: After being busy with launching of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Munugode bypoll and subsequently the Poachgate row for the past couple of months, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is turning his focus to administrative issues to prep up the government and party with just a year left for the next assembly polls.

KCR's prime focus will be on welfare schemes, including implementation of second phase of Dalit Bandhu, resolving podu land row and revenue issues as well as paddy procurement in the next few weeks. There is also a buzz in administrative circles that the CM may reshuffle a few senior officers.

After several months, the CM held a review meeting on road maintenance with roads and buildings (R&B) department and construction of new secretariat on Thursday.

He is expected to hold a meeting on resolving revenue issues by organising revenue sadassus (meeting) in every village. The meetings were supposed to be held in July but were postponed due to incessant rains. Similarly, he is expected to complete distribution of podu land pattas to tribals cultivating in forest over the years.

A meeting on disbursement of Rythu Bandhu payment and paddy procurement is also likely to be held next week by the CM, official sources said.

Officials of departments such as revenue, agriculture and SC welfare have been asked to be prepared for the meetings.

"The cabinet earlier in September decided to extend Dalit Bandhu to 500 beneficiaries in every assembly constituency. By March 2023, the government wants to spend about Rs 6,000 crore for this," an official source said.

The CM is also planning to visit the districts from next week and most likely go to Mahbubabad first, which is tribal dominated, and distribute podu pattas.
