CM seeks support for Khandwa & Mandsaur BJP candidates

Indore: Sitting MP and BJP candidate from Khandwa and Mandsaur on Saturday flexed their muscles as chief minister Mohan Yadav participated in their nomination rally and sought the voters’ support to help retain both the seats falling under Indore-Ujjain division.

From Khandwa Lok Sabha seat, the sitting MP Gyaneshwar Patil submitted another set of nomination forms, as did BJP candidate from Mandsaur Lok Sabha seat Sudhir Gupta.

Thousands of people participated in the road show embarked by the CM through main markets of both the districts. Yadav spoke to the assembled crowd, expressing BJP's determination for a third term with 400 seats in Lok Sabha polls as highlighted achievements including temple construction, poverty alleviation, and political shifts in the region.

Attacking Rahul Gandhi, the CM said that his great grandfather governed for 17 years, grandmother for 17 years, mother operated from the shadows while he tore papers but failed to eradicate poverty. “Now Pappu ji claims he comes to power, he will eradicate poverty in one stroke,” Yadav said adding that Gandhi, after defeat in UP, ‘fled’ to Kerala. “If you lose again, where will you escape this time? Kerala lies ahead, an ocean awaits you,” he said.

During Yadav's rally, Congress leader and Chhaigaon Makhan janpad president Mahendra Sawaner announced his decision to join BJP. Known for his close ties with farmers, Sawaner, a staunch supporter of former Union minister Arun Yadav, holds significant influence in the Pandhana assembly constituency.

In Mandsaur, the CM said, “I have come to the city of Lord Pashupatinath to file the nomination of BJP candidate Sudhir Gupta. He was our national office-bearer and is filing nomination for Lok Sabha poll from Mandsaur-Neemuch seat for the third time”.

All eight Lok Sabha seats of Indore-Ujjain division will go for polling in the fourth phase on May 13.
