Combing ops: Legal action against 411

Indore: In an effort to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the city, Indore police conducted extensive combing operations targeting criminals, miscreants, and anti-social elements across the city on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

DCPs along with police station in charges led police forces across all four zones of the city to carry out the preventive action.

During these operations, the officials conducted thorough checks on 761 individuals associated with criminal activities, resulting in appropriate legal action against 411 of them. Warnings were issued to those apprehended and they were advised against committing further offences.

More than 363 warrants were executed, including those for long-time fugitives, 100 permanent warrants, 125 arrest warrants and 138 bail warrants. Seventy nine summons were also issued. Additionally, several cases related to illegal substances and public disturbances were registered and dealt with accordingly.

The police also took strict measures against unlawful activities, including confiscation of illicit alcohol and weapons. Four cases were registered against people with illegal liquor and two against people roaming with illegal weapons. Also, 40 individuals found driving under the influence of alcohol faced consequences under the Motor Vehicle Act.

In addition to targeting known criminals and miscreants, the police focused on inspecting individuals involved in illegal activities such as drug peddling and extortion. Over 306 individuals, including knife-wielders, drug peddlers, and notorious criminals, were scrutinized and appropriate action was taken against them.

Several accused on the run were apprehended during the operations and legal action was initiated against them. Moreover, in an effort to prevent hooliganism in the area, several offenders were detained by the police were counselled and instructed to refrain from criminal activities.
