Cylone Nisarga: Navy keeps 5 rescue teams on standby

MUMBAI: Five rescue teams and three diving teams have been kept on standby by the Western Naval Command with the cyclonic storm Nisarga brewing in the Arabian Sea .

The five rescue teams have been posted at its naval stations at south Mumbai, Worli , Malad, Ghatkopar and Mankhurd for rescue and relief of the affected populace.



The respective area and station commanders are in touch with the state authorities, NDRF and SDRF to be able to respond to a crisis in the shortest possible time to distant places like Palghar .

Meanwhile, the Indian Coast Guard has warned warning fishing boats not to venture into the sea.
