'Fulfil all poll promises immediately'

Chennai: Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) has strongly condemned the DMK government for failing to fulfil the promises given by the Dravidian party ahead of 2021 assembly polls and urged the ruling party to fulfil its promises soon.

Several resolutions including the one to this effect were passed by the party’s special executive committee, which convened under the chairmanship of president and MP G K Vasan, during its 9th anniversary celebrations on Saturday.

The DMK, which promised to scrap National eligibility cum entrance test (Neet), waive educational and agricultural loans, extend monthly aid of ₹1,000 to women family heads and a subsidy of ₹100 for LPG cylinders if elected to power in 2021 assembly polls, has cheated people by not fulfilling any of its promises after assuming power. TMC (M) urged the DMK to fulfil all its poll promises immediately.

The party strongly criticized the DMK government for hiking the property tax, power tariff and price of milk thereby imposing a huge economic burden on all sections of people. The DMK hiked the prices of essential commodities after promising that it will not do so while canvassing for votes ahead of 2021 polls.
