Further, the civic body will also carry out fogging work from 6 am to 7:30 am in the morning and at the same hours in the evening.

Corporation's vector-control department officials said the 200 wards of the city have been divided into 2,084 smaller divisions and the workers proportionately distributed in the areas.

"We have equipped them with 224 larvicide sprayers, 120 jet-sprayers, 300 ordinary mobile sprayers, and 67 defogging vehicles," said an official from the vector-control department.

The workers will cover one-kilometre distance every day, and about 11lakh houses in all.

"So far, 9117 houses had larvicide in water containers or common bins. Residents must be cautious on storing water in pots and must dispose of garbage regularly. Flower pots and tubs too are a source of mosquito breeding," said the official. The zonal health officers have been deputed to monitor the larvicide prevention work.
