Madhya Pradesh: Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi Vadra with family visit Omkareshwar

KHANDWA: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Mandir on the banks of Narmada river in Khandwa district and offered prayers along with AICC general secretary and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra , her husband Robert and son Raihan.

Before visiting the temple - one of the 12 Jyotirlinga mandirs, Rahul and his family members along with senior MPCC leaders including Kamal Nath visited Bramhapuri Ghaat and performed ' Narmada Pujan Arti ' (prayer) there.



In ' Narmada Pujan Arti', Rahul and Priyanka appeared in 'traditional look' by wearing white Kurta-Pajama while priests at the Narmada River's bank made him wear a chain of 'Rudraksh', a scarf with 'Om' written on it. Rahul also wore a saffron-colour turban offered to him by the priests. Robert and Raihan could also been seen participating in the puja as priests cited 'Narmada Ashtak', 'Mantras', 'Arti' before concluding with 'Pushpanjali'.

During this, Rahul was seen in 'Dhyan Mudra' as priests chanted 'Mantra' in the background. The senior Congress leaders along with Robert and Rehan offered a 'Chunari' to Maa Narmada (river). The prayer at Narmada River's bank lasted for around 45 minutes, before all the 'VVIPs' reached Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Mandir and offered prayer there.

It was first temple visit of Rahul in Madhya Pradesh. He is also set to visit another Jyotirlinga Mandir of the state- Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Mandir on November 30 while his cross-country march, via Agar-Malwa district, will on December 4 enter Rajasthan.
