The stations are to be made operational from next month.

“These will be automatic and advanced monitoring stations that will provide a real time air quality index of the areas once they are operational,” said MPCB officials.

Presently, MPCB has air quality monitoring stations at five locations, which are manually operated.

These four stations will have continuous automatic monitoring devices for carbon monoxide (CO), sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NO2), beta attenuation gauges to measure PM2.5 and PM10 pollution levels.
