Out of Indore race, Opposition intensifies NOTA campaign

Indore: Intensifying its protest against former Congress candidate Akshay Kanti Bam withdrawing nomination to contest from Indore Lok Sabha seat before joining BJP, the main opposition party on Saturday launched 'Vote for Nota' campaign from Dr BR Ambedkar's statue at Geeta Bhawan square.

The campaign, led by Congress Indore city president Surjit Singh Chaddha, saw the member parties of I.N.D.I.A.
bloc taking part in the protest and advocating for voting for NOTA.

Chaddha mentioned that the BJP leaders coerced the I.N.D.I.A. bloc candidate to retract his nomination through intimidation, threats, and bribery, resulting in the demise of the democratic process. "As a form of protest, today all the I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties urged the voters of the Indore Lok Sabha constituency to vote for NOTA" he said.

On the occasion, the participants raised slogans against BJP and urged people to vote for NOTA to teach a lesson to the ruling party.

The main parties of the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, such as the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Communist Party, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Kisan Mazdoor Sangh, participated in the protest.
