After a private and exclusive Maratha style wedding ritual on Wednesday afternoon, the new royal couple in town Shivani Raje and Rithvik Shelke had a grand reception the same evening. Held at a city based hotel, the evening reception was everything bling and glitz as the newlywed couple made a fairytale entrance amidst dreamy mist and sparklers. Bride Shivani was wearing a remodelled lehenga which was fashioned out of her mother Smita Pawar’s wedding Benarasi saree, along with heritage jewellery. While her husband Rithvik Shelke was dressed in a traditional Mysore bandhgala and vintage pearl mala.
Just like the wedding, all the Maratha royals from central and south India were in attendance to witness history in making and to shower blessings on the newlywed couple. All the patrons were dressed in their royal fineries and carrying badges of honour according to their ranks. The dinner platter included primarily Malwi traditional Malwi cuisine, as the patrons had come from various parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
