Ujjain deputy collector held for raping staff
BARWANI/INDORE: Police on Friday arrested Ujjain deputy collector Dr Abhay Singh Kharari for allegedly blackmailing and sexually exploiting a subordinate employee posted in Barwani.
According to the complainant, he threatened to disfigure her with acid unless he gave in to his demands.

He was produced in court on Friday and remanded in jail.
Female employee: Followed me even after his transfer
The female employee lodged a complaint on April 29, alleging that she was being harassed since 2016, when Kharari was the Barwani SDM, said Meniya. His wife suspected their relationship and filed a case against the female employee and her family.
The female employee got worried but Kharari assured her he would get the case dismissed, say police. He continued to sexually exploit the woman and promised to give her PSC coaching to further her career, Meniya said. The complainant alleged that even after he was transferred to Ujjain, Kharari kept following her and “stopped her marriage proposals”. She said he took obscene photos of her and used them to blackmail her.
