JDA razes under-construction colonies in ecological zones

Jaipur: The enforcement wing of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) prevented errant developers to build colonies on agricultural land at the ecological zones of Jambdoli and Ropada villages in Jaipur on Saturday.

Officials said, near Jambdoli village, a four bighas of agricultural plot was utilised to construct a colony in the name of Keshav Vihar Extension.

Acting on a tip off, officials of the enforcement wing conducted a drive and demolished all the structures those were under construction.

Similarly, another colony was coming up in Ropada Village on an agricultural land measuring around six bighas. Officials of the enforcement wings demolished all the under-construction structures of this land.

“Both the colonies were coming up on agricultural land in ecological zone of the city. The builders were carrying out the construction works without any permission. We would now slap a recovery notice and recover the cost incurred on these drives from the errant builders,” said Mahendra Sharma, the chief of JDA’s enforcement wing. TNN
