Maota Sarovar gets cleaned during JMC-H's plogging drive

Jaipur: City residents adorned in their sportswear enthusiastically participated in a plogging drive organised by Jaipur Municipal Corporation – Heritage at Maota Sarovar near Amer Fort on Saturday. Not only did officials and workers of JMC-H join, but also numerous individuals contributed to the two-hour initiative.

A staggering 2,000 people took part in the drive, collectively pledging to uphold cleanliness in their surroundings afterward. A notable accomplishment was the collection of eight tonnes of garbage during the plogging activity. Singers Ravindra Upadhyay and Kanika, appointed as JMC-H brand ambassadors, graced the occasion with their presence.

Highlighting the significance of maintaining clean water sources and environments, JMC-H Commissioner Abhishek Surana emphasised upon the importance of responsible behaviour.

"Preserving our surroundings is crucial. We must refrain from littering near historical sites and cease the use of plastic near water bodies. These initiatives aim to instill awareness about cleanliness among the populace," said Surana.

Vikram Singh Tanwar, an active participant in the drive, described the experience as unique, emphasising the collective effort to improve the environment. "While we usually rise early to witness the sunrise with loved ones, contributing to nature's well-being alongside others feels immensely gratifying," said Tanwar.

Echoing similar sentiments, Priyanka Bhaduria, an avid trekker and nature enthusiast, advocated for more frequent organisation of such activities.
