4 held for hoisting saffron flag at 'religious site'
KANPUR: Police arrested on Friday four persons for trying to hoist a saffron flag at a platform used for religious event of other community during the Ram Navami procession in Kannauj on April 17.
Kannauj SP Amit Kumar Anand said that when the procession reached near Imam Chowk, a man suddenly climbed the platform and put up a saffron flag, which was immediately removed by local people and the police.

With the help of CCTV footage, the police identified the accused as Abhay and arrested him along with his three friends on Friday.
Abhay told the police that his three friends, Rahul Kashyap, Vishal and Ashish, had placed a bet of Rs 100 for for the act.
