B'day of 11th Panchen Lama celebrated at Bylakuppe

Mysuru: The 35th birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama, Tenzin Gendun Choeki Nyima Rinpoche, was celebrated at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement on Thursday.

As part of the celebrations, a series of ceremonial activities were held. The celebrations commenced with a prayer session conducted by the monks of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery.

Dawa Tsultim, secretary of the health office of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), led the congregation in the Sang Prayer, a sacred ritual symbolizing unity and blessings. This ceremony was attended by dignitaries including the representative Abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and Jigmet Tsultim, chief representative officer of the South Zone, along with representatives from various monasteries, nunneries, officials, and organizations from around Mysuru district.

Following the Sang Prayer, a portrait of the 11th Panchen Lama was unveiled. Devotees also offered prayers. Representative Abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery Dawa Tsultim spoke on the occasion, highlighting the impact of the religious leader’s teachings and contributions to the spiritual and cultural heritage of Tibet.

As part of the festivities, awards were presented to the winners of a poetry competition, and a new magazine was launched, showcasing the literary talents within the community.
