Opposition can't change system, people can, says Prakash Raj

Mysuru: Actor and activist Prakash Raj on Sunday stated that people can breathe freely only if the society ensures that the Constitution remains unchanged. He also called out to people to change the system with their votes.

Speaking at BR Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations and people’s convention organised by Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, he stated that today we have reached such a stage where we are forced to fight to save the Constitution.

It is impossible even to guess how India would have looked today if the Constitution was written by others, he said.

Raj took a dig at PM Narendra Modi and BJP saying when the country was reeling under Covid-19, there were no buses to transport the migrant labourers, but today people are brought to the PM’s event in buses.

“27 MPs elected to Lok Sabha in 2019 did not work as people’s representatives because PM Modi wants only jokers in his court in Delhi,” he said. He alleged that PM Modi is misusing I-T (department), ED, and CBI in the fear of defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. “Change can’t be implemented by the opposition. Only people can change the system through their votes,” the actor said.

Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha president Badagalapura Nagendra was present.
