7-year-old pillion rider dies in bike-car crash

Nashik: A 7-year-old boy lost his life in an accident on the road from Pathardi Phata to Phatardi village on Monday night.

The boy– identified as Tatsam Panpatil, resident of Uttam Nagar, Cidco in the city was riding pillion on his father’s bike when they collided with a car. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Pathardi Phata but succumbed to his injuries at approximately 12.30am on Tuesday.

The police said that Rahul Panpatil (the boy’s father) was riding a bike from Pathardi Phata to Pathardi village at around 10pm when he rammed a car’s left side.

The Indiranagar police registered a case of accidental death.

The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident. Officials said that they were also examining the scene of the collision and gathering statements from potential witnesses to piece together the sequence of events.

The police are also looking into whether any traffic rules were violated by the car driver, which may have contributed to the unfortunate event.

They are checking if the bike at a high speed or if there were any other factors led to the accident.
