Traffic comes to halt after car knocks down horse in Nashik

Nashik: A five-year-old horse died in a collision with a cart at the Trimbak Naka junction of the city around 2.30pm on Friday.

The Sarkarwada police have detained the driver and confiscated the car. A case is likely to be registered.

The horse was galloping and two people on a bike were taking the horse, via a rope around horse’s neck, on the Trimbak Road.

While they were crossing the junction, a car coming from the Mumbai Naka towards the CBS struck the horse.

The horse’s throat got slit in the collision. A limb of the horse got broken in the collision and due to persistent bleeding, it died on the spot.

The accident led to a traffic jam at the junction only to be restored later.
