Youth held with 106 grams MDMA in Thiruvananthapuram

KOLLAM: In the largest-ever seizure by Kollam rural police, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) team with the help of Kottarakkara police arrested a youth with 106 grams of MDMA from Kottarakkara KSRTC stand on Sunday morning.

The arrested has been identified as Amal (24), a resident of Pattathanam, and a case has been registered against him under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act.

Based on a tip-off, a police team was monitoring his moves for the last couple of days.

On Thursday, Amal left for Bengaluru to buy MDMA and came back to Kottarakkara in a Volvo bus. He was arrested while he was waiting to board a bus to Kollam.

The police found several packets of MDMA wrapped up in clothes from his bag durin checking. Since the confiscated drug is in commercial quantity, he was remanded after producing before a court.

"Amal has been in this business for several years. His source and information on his intended customers will be known only through investigation," the police said.
