Hours after Dhananjay Singh's wife gets BSP ticket, his aide murdered in Jaunpur

VARANASI: A close aide of jailed gangster turned politician Dhananjay Singh was murdered in Rithi area under Sikrara police station of Jaunpur district on Tuesday night.

Dhananjay's wife Shrikala Reddy is Bahujan Samaj Party candidate for Jaunpur Lok Sabha constituency.

DIG Varanasi range OP Singh said that in their old enmity three locals and one Aneesh clashe in Rithi area.

Assailants not on shot him but also attacked with sharp edged weapons, he said adding Aneesh was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Assailants have been identified and teams are engaged to nab them, said Singh.


Dhananjay supporters gathered at hospital said that Aneesh of Rithi was closely associated with their leader and managed poll campaign in many areas.
