Lokesh promises to transform Rayalaseema into an industrial hub at Chandragiri Yuvagalam meet

TIRUPATI: Former industries and IT minister Nara Lokesh assured to the people that the backward Rayalaseema region of the state will be transformed into an industrial hub in the next five years once the TDP led NDA govt comes back to power in the state.

Addressing a massive gathering of youngsters at the Yuvagalam programme held at Chandragiri assembly constituency on Thursday, Lokesh appealed to the voters to pledge support for the TDP's Chittoor parliament constituency candidate Daggumalla Prasad Rao and Chandragiri assembly candidate Pulivarthi Venkatamani Prasad in the upcoming elections to witness comprehensive development in the next five years.

Recalling his interactions with the people of various assembly constituencies in Chittoor district as well as other parts of the Rayalaseema region during his Yuvagalam programme, Lokesh asked the people to introspect what development the YSRCP govt brought to Chittoor district despite winning 13 out of 14 assembly constituencies and both parliament constituencies in the 2019 elections.

"Has the YSRCP govt succeeded in bringing a single industry to Chittoor in the last five years. On the contrary, there has been an exodus of industries in Chittoor district after the YSRCP came to power. While the Reliance group was all set to ground their mega factory in this district after our relentless efforts, they decided to exit AP after the YSRCP assume office in the state. Similarly, due to the harassment meted out to them, the Amaron group too shut down its operations here and shifted base to Telangana", Lokesh lamented.

Accusing the YSRCP govt of earning the state the dubious distinction of being number one in Ganja smuggling, and as a state collecting highest amount of taxes on fuel and gas, the TDP national general secretary asked the people to realise the fact that the Jagan Reddy govt was taking back more from the people when compared to the financial assistance it extended to the people through various welfare schemes.

Explaining about the six guarantees of the TDP led NDA alliance, Lokesh said about 20 lakh jobs will be created in the next five years to address the unemployment issue with a long-term perspective. "On the other-hand, our promise of a mega DSC notification will be issued as the first initiative of the NDA govt within two months from now", the ex TDP minister assured.
