Third flight from Vizag to Malaysia commences operations

VISAKHAPATNAM: The third international flight from Vizag to Malaysia was inaugurated from Vizag International Airport on Friday. The airport achieved a new milestone with the commencement of the Malaysia flight by Thai Air Asia. This thrice-weekly flight is believed to be an important step in improving connectivity between Vizag and Southeast Asia.
Tourists have the advantage of visiting Kuala Lumpur with a visa-on-arrival facility until the end of December 2024. The Thai Air Asia flight will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The flight is scheduled to land in Visakhapatnam from Kuala Lumpur at 9:30 PM. The departure from Vizag is planned for 10:00 PM, and the arrival in Kuala Lumpur is expected at 4:20 AM (IST 1:50 AM). Representatives of the AP Air Travellers Association and Airport Advisory Committee members, O Naresh Kumar, D Varma, and Kumar Raj mentioned that this flight will provide opportunities for travelers not only to Malaysia but also to other destinations in Southeast Asia. The initial load on the flight is 176 out of a total capacity of 180 passengers.

The president of the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh (TTAA), Kanneganti Vijaya Mohan, mentioned that this flight connects Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Australia. He informed that the starting fare is Rs 7999 with a free luggage allowance of 7kg, and the charge for a 20 kg luggage will be around Rs. 2000.

The Inauguration was attended by the presence of Airport Director S. Raja Reddy, Airport Advisory Committee members Dr. K. Kumar Raja, O. Naresh Kumar, D. S. Varma, K. Vijay Mohan, and other officials.
