Vizag Lok Sabha: YSRC candidate Jhansi and alliance candidate Bharat file nominations

VISAKHAPATNAM: Political fever gripped the city as candidates of two major parties_ TDP-BJP-JSP alliance and YSRC for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency have submitted nomination on Monday.

YSRC candidate Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi has handed over three sets of nominations to Returning Officer and District Collector Dr A Mallikarjuna in the presence of her husband and education minister Botcha Satyanarayana, Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, YSRC Party regional coordinator YV Subba Reddy and Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar.


Before filing her nomination, Jhansi Lakshmi met the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with her husband Satyanarayana and their family members at Yendada in Vizag city.The nomination ceremony was attended by several leaders of YSRC parties, with a huge rally.

Jhansi told the media after filing the nomination that chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy decided Vizag as the administrative capital and appealed to the Vizagites to vote for YSRC for the development of the Vizag region.

TDP-BJP-JSP alliance candidate M Sri Bharath has handed over the nomination papers to Dr A Mallikarjuna in the presence of TDP leaders. Earlier, accompanied by TDP leaders and MLAs, Bharath garlanded the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at DabaGardens in Vizag city.

Speaking to media after the nomination, Bharath said YSRC government has done nothing for development of Vizag city but it has mortgaged the assets of the government. Vizag which is known for being a peaceful city lost its peace as the crime rate in the city has increased in the past five years. Bharath assured that the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance will focus on the development of Vizag city on various fronts.
