2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC with BS-VI engines launched, starts at Rs 52.75 lakh

NEW DELHI: Mercedes-Benz launched the new generation of luxury SUV GLC here on Tuesday, starting at Rs 52.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India).


* GLC 200: Rs 52.75 lakh (ex-showroom)

* GLC 220D 4-Matic: Rs 57.75 lakh (ex-showroom)

The sporty silhouette packs a new bumper and radiator grille. The new iteration gets chrome in abundance in the grille and bumper, making is look bigger and bolder. The new GLC features a significantly modified headlamp unit.




A 20mm hike in ground clearance and underbody protection clearly reflects company’s commitment towards turning the new GLC a formidable workforce is both road and no-road conditions. The 5-seater SUV gets all-new 19-inch alloys and panaromic sunroof as standard. The rear witnesses slight rework, with chrome-wrapped dual exhaust and new tail lamp cluster. The new GLC comes in six colour schemes - white, blue, silver, grey, black and red.



The interiors are plush and upmarket, with a two customer-customisable paint jobs — black and beige. The tactile feedback of the 10.25-inch infotainment system is top-notch and is equipped with smart connected features. The long list of creature comfort features include wireless charging, ambient lighting, climate control among many. The boot stands at 580 litres, which can be expanded to 1600 litre by folding the second row. The seats are large and holds the shape well with adequate head and knee room.

The new GLC is equipped with BS-VI compliant diesel and petrol units. The 1950-cc diesel units pumps out 194 hp and 400 Nm, with a claimed 0-100 kph in 7.9 seconds. On the other, 1991-cc BS-VI petrol engine generates 197 hp and 320 Nm with

7.8 seconds to 100 kph. The automatic transmission is well-spaced, the company claims.

Safety features include automatic parking assist - automatic, active braking assist, 24x7 e-call services, among other features.
