Track tale: Polaris lays off-road adventure circuit in Gurugram

NEW DELHI: Polaris India inaugurated of its 91st off-road adventure track, Polaris Experience Zone (PEZ), in Gurugram in collaboration with the Yansh Adventure Motorsports. Whether you're skilled in all-terrain vehicles (ATV) or want to spend some recreational time with the big toys, the experience zone tucked in the Gurugram-Faridabad road provides a great platform.

Pankaj Dubey, managing director and country head, Polaris India, during the opening ceremony, said, "It not only offers the thrill and exhilaration of Polaris off-road and ATVs but the enthusiasts can experience rides on the specially-designed track and trail." And here we were, trying to get our first-hand experience on the newly-laid track spread over an acre-area.

For starters, the 400-metre-long track is built for amateurs, keeping recreation in mind. Trains brief about the road ahead, however, you would be more eager to get closer to the turf. Broadly, what you face on kick-starting the ATV are five comparatively sharp turns, a camel hump, and a series of beefed-up speed breakers. The fare for three laps of the track begins at Rs 500 and increases according to your choice of ATVs.

Dividing the track into four halves, the difficulty increases as you proceed. It's always advisable to take an initial couple of laps at comfort to calibrate yourself to the difficulty. You may choose from the Polaris fleet of Sportsman 90, Outlaw 90, Sportsman 400, Trailboss 330, Pheonix 200, RZR 170. Knobby tyres, robust built and engine grunts are basic features across the lineup. The ATVs are well armoured, so don't worry about toppling.

Caution ... It's highly addictive yet delightful.
