PVR Cinemas Q3 results to be out tomorrow

NEW DELHI: Multiplex chain operator PVR Cinemas is likely to announce its earnings for the third quarter on Thursday i.e. January 23.

The film entertainment company is involved in the business of movie exhibition, movie production, and movie distribution. In the past five years, the PVR share price has zoomed from Rs 699.15 on January 21, 2015 to Rs 1914.65 on January 16, 2020 on BSE.

For the quarter ended September 2019, PVR reported a 34.98 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 47.88 crore. And, consolidated revenue jumped 37.35 per cent YoY to Rs 973.18 crore in comparison to year-ago period.

With its share quoting at Rs 1918.40 (NSE) and Rs 1919.40 (BSE) at 12:58 pm on Wednesday, January 22, it would be interesting to see how PVR has earned in the third quarter of 2020.

Currently, PVR operates a cinema circuit of 821 Screens at 172 Properties in 70 Cities (India and Sri Lanka). Its major income segments are box office (ticket revenue), food and beverage, and advertisement.
